  • You can carry on at the top and bomb up Pitfield St to the canal to take you west or east, I did that for a few years. You have to go slower on the towpath but there are fewer sociopaths driving skip lorries.

  • Might try this one northbound, good idea. Hope it's not too crowded, I find it dangerous when there are too many cyclist packs. The irony...

@cgg I didn't find that the time of my commute changed a lot, so far. Major roadworks on Bishopsgate right now, so it's pretty much a shit show all day at the moment. Anyway, I'll try your suggestion in the morning, ta!

  • To the guy in full face helmet and googles, sound making device for turns and full camera setup coming through E&C, Borough and London Bridge, just because you think you are safer than the rest of us doens't allow you to disobey the rules and RLJ. In fact its even more stupid on your part because the evidence is right on your GoPro.

+1, I see this guy almost every day. At first it was funny, then embarrassing. Now just infuriating.

One of many morons on that route unfortunately.

  • It's crisp this morning! Smooth ride in 8/10

  • I hate this guy. Such an aggy rider and such needlessly bright lights at all times.

  • run/train/run for me - much milder+ drizzle glad i had ridden yesterday at -7.9degrees instead of damp today ...

  • Is it just a CS2 speciality to have people cycling the wrong way on it? I suppose wide path and road with central reservation makes it tempting, still really annoying.

  • Hello MM - search for H2 (near Berwick St). It will cost but it might be what you need

  • er, missed the turn.

  • First > 10km ride during recovery post 'hip calamity 2016'.

Revisiting the scene, exorcising demons, carrying my crutch just in case.

  • Almost there. Note that Moorgate is indeed one-way, northbound. So southbound you need to take a left on Eldon St / Blomfield St and navigate your way (I'd say cross over to Great Winchester St and right on Old Broad St)

  • Ha.

Glad to hear you're on the mend!

  • It started off as a normal commute, but somewhere along the line it turned into cyclocross.

A few turns to keep things interesting, and I ended up covered in mud on the Thames path, with a broken spoke and a big grin on my face.

I should do this more often... take detours. It's fun.

  • Early start from E Finchley and in Regents Park by 7. Yuch. Horrible. Wet. Huge puddles. Visibility rubbish. But I wasn't alone of course... other brave souls/idiots circuiting too. At 8 I'm in Taylor Street Barristas in Brooks Mews, Mayfair. Porridge and coffee. (Bit of an indulgence but I'm worth It). Office at 8.15. In a suit by 8.30. On LFGSS forum by 8.45. I'm happy. 7/10.

  • Lots of oil on the road from Archway roundabout, down through Kentish town til Camden. Sketchy as.

Po-po standing on the junction at Tufnell Park looking out for RLJ (and not much else).

  • Are there some works going on that is causing Bishopsgate to be particularly congested?

  • Have you worked out how to legally join the N bound cycle path at Archway going up Archway Road? Its a clusterf*ck.

  • No because it simply doesnt work. I stay on the road like everyone else who is sensible.

  • I think it will only be possible once the scheme is completed. You will head up the pedestrianised bit and cross pedestrian crossing at the bottom of Highgate Hill..

  • 2 police roadblocks on the way to work this morning. One was around a zebra crossing on New Kings Road - probably a collision.
Second one was a bit more interesting - a group of squatters were throwing stuff out of the windows of a squat on Eaton Square. Looked like the bailiffs were trying to regain entry, and it was all kicking off. All good fun!

  • Did my weekly long commute in yesterday, then trains were fucked so I rode home too. 90 mile day, today's commute was slow and achy/10

  • Anyone have a decent route from Crystal Palace triangle to Chancery Lane? Moving from SW to SE shortly! Google maps suggests College Road (are you allowed to ride there?) then Walworth Road, E&C and Blackfriars bridge. https://goo.gl/maps/6JHLdSyxJy42

Any better options out there? I prioritise lower traffic over speed as a rule...

  • College Road is private, but open to traffic who pay a toll. Cyclists are exempt though. The toll means it's relatively quiet.

My route would be that, then through Dulwich, then either up Sunray Avenue, or use the bike path that runs up Green Dale, then through Camberwell and up Walworth Road to E&C, then Blackfriars. There's traffic but most of that route from Denmark Hill has bus lanes, so it's never too bad.
