  • The sweep-specific ergons seem dumb. They just position your hand/wrist at the same angle as you would be if you had a normal flat bar, but just moved backwards a bunch. Seems like an expensive way to cancel out the benefit of the you swept/angled bar...

  • Interesting. I'm no physio but don't they just give more support diagonally across the palm in that setup?

  • That's what I thought until I popped into the LBS and had a look/test ride

    Ergon claim it fixes this issue:

    by supporting your hand but also altering the angle of your wrist

    What I found was it fucked with the ergonomics of the brakes (angle of lever and hand don't match up) and I could relieve the issue in the first picture by just repositioning the bar (raising and shorter stem). IME the regular ergons work well enough if you just want palm support.
