I agree, it's not like you need to be doing complicated stuff around intervals, just pushing hard at threshold-ish levels for an hour. HR's perfect for that.

That makes no sense. Buy a second hand Power2Max from @eyebrows, he seems to have an endless supply, then keep it because it's good to track numbers over time.

you need to collect that trendy frame pump btw.
-
• #8105
ooh yeah. Where you working atm?

Also echoing the don't buy a single sided power meter comments.
My L/R balance varies depending how close I am to FTP, buying a single sided power meter would be like buying a random number generator
-
• #8109
It'd produce consistent numbers though, rather than genuinely random ones.

If I can borrow a Garmin I'll do a Powertap hub vs Stages GPX Left crank fixed riding comparison. Watch out DC rainmaker..
-
• #8113
Why not buy 2nd hand P2M or SRM?
-
• #8114
I think I will just stick with HR for now ..
-
• #8115
Looking forward to that.
-
• #8116
Yeah HR or 2nd hand P2M/SRM. Don't bother with middle ground.
-
• #8117
yeah cant afford that .. instead I might squeeze in a sunny/hilly 'training camp' before
-
• #8118
Do you need a HRM? I still have a Polar kicking about.
-
• #8119
I've got a garmin thats ok for now but will PM if I need a spare. Ta!

But yeah, I'd just train off perceived effort. But maybe you're not so dialled into your body, so a HRM will help.

Don't know enough about FSA, do they do a track chainset that this would work with? On sale in 165mm. Might be of interest to someone. £270 (after £5 off code used).

Has anyone on here bought directly from Power2Max?
Seems like you can only pay for one using poxy Paypal or Bank transfer both of which will add £25-30 to the overall price and with the exchange rate as it is atm makes it a tad too pricey.
I'm after a type S with 110 spider for Rotor 3D+ cranks if someone has an un-abused one going.

• #8123
Guess you can't use cc any more.
PayPal. £20 on £700 is pretty small amount.

I paid p2m via bank transfer and confirmation was prompt. IBAN codes work great so no silly business to be expected. I don't see a reason to use paypal for totally legit operator like p2m.
