What were the Rocket Rons like? Get to use them in anger?
-
• #5
Never used them in proper mud.
I had trouble getting the bead to seat with my wheels, then bought the Vittoria XLs (which excelled in late season filth and weren't too much of a pain to seat).

They the tubeless version?
-

Vittoria or Schwalbe? Neither.
Few issues with burping the Vittorias on roots at the Team Championships so I might investigate proper tubeless offerings over the summer. Finished the race but had to focus on riding smoothly rather than speedily.
I've always found Schwalbe's non-tubeless cross options to be a bit baggy around the rim to work tubeless.

The cheap Vittorias seem really supple run tubeless though.
I'd be surprised if the new tubeless tubulars don't take off. I'd been riding around 25-30 psi tubeless (on a £20 tyre) and it felt equivalent to around 20 psi in a tub.

The tubeless rockets are £50 from Wiggle. £50!

I'm sure manufacturers are relishing the fact they can essentially make a tyre worse and charge more for it at the same time.
Anyway, back to the topic, if anyone wants all the cross tyres I'd take £30 for the lot.
