Yeah, the NSC thing is crazy.
I also think this policy is intended to whip up sentiment against the judiciary, same as has happened here re the Art 50 vote.
If he can cow the media and the judiciary, there aren't really any checks left on Trump.

My New Years resolution was to:-
Boycott all American goods, culture and shit..
Totally ignore Canada Goose jacket wearers , worn by wannabe fashion victims and insanely ignorant rich c#nts in the UK
Continue to buy and promote British and EU products
Employ more Albanians and Romanians also Turks. Kurds and Armenians..
Promote proper Islamic culture shared by many peace living Muslims in the UK, especially from Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Egypt and Somalia, who I work with everyday
I'm probably banned from the USA now.

He's got a couple of slots for senior judges coming up for appointment has he not?
Ironically America may end up actually needing the second amendment as intended when written.

We had the same petition a while back tho isn't it?
The sensible view is to let him come then spend the whole time he's here explaining to him why he's a cunt. Partly with reasonable discussion, partly peaceful mass protest and partly name-calling, egg-throwing and memes.
-
• #1532
I have never been to a protest before
This does not surprise me.
-
• #1533
More than 450k now.
The petition is being spread and presumably signed by people thinking it's to stop him coming, it's not.
Donald Trump should be allowed to enter the UK in his capacity as head of the US Government, but he should not be invited to make an official State Visit because it would cause embarrassment to Her Majesty the Queen.

Emergency demo against Trump's #MuslimBan and UK complicity, 6pm tomorrow, Downing St -
• #1535
I suppose Downing Street will have to do for a demo. I mean, it's not as if Trump has multiple high-profile assets, spread out over large areas of British countryside where it would be very easy to create mischief and scare off his rich clientele.
-
• #1537
I think the demo is more aimed at May and rest of UK government than Trump directly.
-
• #1538
Though a lot are signing. Almost 500k. 30k people signed in the past 20 mins

Interested to know what you mean.
I went to a vigil once, for a mosque that was set on fire. But larger events tend to have a less specific message, and you can often find yourself among those you don't actually agree with. I also find crowds extremely unpleasant and claustrophobic. Do I come across as claustrophobic?
Or maybe it doesn't surprise you because you think protests are pointless and shit. You're entitled to that view.

Whoever got Theresa May into the White House last week deserves a bonus.
Any of the leaders of the 10 or so western countries that give a shit about this ban, who are booked to see Trump this week, are going to be mighty pissed.

You dont have to boycott the us the americans will boycott trump in the end. I give him a year. He will over reach himself soon if he carries on the way he is going. Everything he has done has made enemies he has won no new friends and you cant remain in power that way for long.
He pissed of the us global allies and he has been in for a week. Name me a president that in his first week in office has managed to upset so many people and has had the states condidering legal action against decrees. Protests are pointless. Remember the poll tax protests/riots. They did nothing to bring about its demise. It was dropped because so many did not pay it the courts could not keep up. Also the tories realised it was a vote looser.

Got to hand it to the guys running 'th'Trump Presidency'.
A few muslims/refugees inconvenienced,
a New York State judge had to work on a Saturday,
some Europeans got their preconceptions stroked and organised demos.Even if it is all unwound over the coming months,
Bannon will still be on the National Security Council.Like a great magician/conjuror, we have all been distracted,
and an inexperienced blowhard will be shouting down Generals
and other highest ranking Military leaders.http://www.politico.com/story/2017/01/mccain-bannon-nsc-234329

And yet a world with no protests would look like a world where everyone was happy with what was happening. There are many reasons to protest, it's not just about cause-effect in that way.
If Trump goes, is Pence likely to be any better? I don't think there's any way, is there, to have another election before the four years are up? Don't they just go down the list of next eligible person? It's a long list before you meet anyone who would be much better. -

We have alot of leverage should we choose to use it.
We control our airspace we could prevent all u.s miltary aircraft taking of from u.k airspace and any us military aircraft from entering u.k airspace. That would be a strong message dont piss us off and let our u.k passport holders and foreign citizens that have residancy in the u.k travel freely regardless of where they are from. We could extend that to eu citizens as we have not left yet.
We might need to spend more on defense as well alot more.

Steve Bannon looks like he was bitten by a zombie but hasn't told the rest of the group yet

I think it's more a question of whether Pence would be totally controlled by Bannon in the same way that Trump is.
Bannon has, this weekend, become de-facto ruler of the USA.

You don't think the protests did anything to communicate that to the tories? Or to encourage others who may not have protested but who still disagreed with it.
