56, Schwalbe Pro-One which are theoretically a 28, really like it.

I just wanted a disc caad bike that would take more than 28c. Shame
TBH, not worth it when you can get a Pinnacle Dolomite with better specification for £200 less.
Or even get the full hydraulic for £100 more than the Optimo Tiagra.
Alternately, go full carbon and hydraulic with the massively cheap Saracen that have huge clearance for 28mm plus mudguard, only £100 more than the 105 Optimo;

I'd not risk larger than 28 in the CAAD12, although mine come up at around 30 on the wheels I use.
Anyway, I'd not go larger as the clearances (under the fork, particularly) just isn't there.

Mega comfy at the ~55 PSI that these tyres allow anyway.

In the last 4 years or so I've not ridden anything with more than 25s.
You haven't live.

I ended up buying a caad12 ultegra disc in the sale, swapping the wheels for hunt 4 seasons with 25mm Paves and changing the stem / saddle to suit.
I've only used it twice so far but its really good, for what is mostly an off the peg bike

How are they? Good enough to race? Thinking of converting later this year.

It's not for definite yet, I still have other things to pay off etc, but if I go caad route I'll need to make space and so the 58cm System Six will be for sale. I haven't built it up, it's closer to a 56 in actual size but bigger than I'd prefer. For someone here I'd want back what I paid which would be £250. Otherwise I'm going to chuck it on eBay for £300. Any interest?

The pro-ones? I really like them.

I still have a spare system six stem if anyone buys the frame and wants it?
Looks like this:

What's the best way/ is it possible to go for a raw alu finish on my CAAD?

So I'm entering into a pretty damn long bikepacking ride in NZ, and I'm really worried about suffering a rear shock failure, or being declined by air new zealand at the check in counter for my air shock...
So I've been costing out a new bike build, and I'm looking to go full rigid. I've spotted an F29 ultimate on the local gumtree for pretty cheap, but for the life of me I can't work out what's going on at the BB cluster area with those bolts. On top of that, I'm sure these were shipped with lefty forks, are there going to be any issues fitting a standard tapered rigid fork?
Also, this is a 135mm spaced frame, not a 142x12 right?
Seller describes as F29 Ultimate Hi Mod, which makes me think it's a 2013 year group. The other question is - how fragile is this thing in terms of knocks (not abrasion)?

Bolts are the adapter for the front derailleur
These are 135qr frames
Yes - it would have shipped with a 90mm travel Lefty
Yes - you can fit a tapered rigid fork by using KP205
They're reasonably tough frames...but they are also weight weenie race rigs. Get some helitape :)

Mine ready for 2017.

I'm like a yo yo with decisions. But I'm gonna keep it. As is the usual story, I can't afford to get the stem off you, but I do want it so please hold on to it for me

Either get a fresh new pair of white tape or convert it black.

Thanks mate, I don't think it's a worthwhile upgrade for me personally. I don't race or anything and I honestly don't think I'd feel a difference in fork stiffness for the same weight. But really appreciate the offer.

Sounds like a sensible way of thinking, no problem at all. I'm undecided on the OG stem visually, but somehow think they're awesome just because it was factory fitted.

Yeah it's ugly as sin but just has to be done for some reason.

Just needed a wash. In black it's too dark!

Woah mate, do you understand this forum at all?
Oh nice one. 56 right? What tyres are you running? And after having it for a while, how'd you like the frame?
