Ha. Was going to ask this myself when I read that.

Where you go with no real objective, following the every bridleway sign rule ;).

NS bikes RAG+ looks pretty interesting. I recon they'd be hard pressed to deny the Open U.P. was a heavy influence in the design.
It's gone straight to the top of my list, I just hope it's got clearance for a double or at least a decently large single ring.
-
• #606
Shouldn't be a problem. They're designed for single ring, so that's what the dropped stay is there for. Road cranks + clearance for a fatter tyre.
Jesus, this gravel biz has totally taken off hasn't it.

looks good although tbh i would be expecting rival or even force at that price point.
This is not a whole lot more money

Edit. Found it

What's the score with this? I'm intrigued...

Looks good, definitely considering it.

It's all a bit vague to be honest. Looks to be sort of UK version of Grinduro. The website is shit, but check them out on IG for a better idea. Spoke to someone who did it last year and they said it was a hoot. Although it's a called a race, I don't think anyone really takes it seriously.... seems kinda like a Rapha Prestige kinda thing, but all on woodland tracks and bridleways.
Ive entered and a few others from Bristol are coming too! Unsure if we are gonna camp or find an air bnb house somewhere near...You should come!

Get your entry in!

There are team prizes, we've registered a team called Bobbys Sausage Party, and we're just riding for LOLZ. I think you can select to be part of the team on one of the drop down menus on the entry site if you want!... or start your own team!

@hoops Is it several loops of 100km or several different routes that total 100km? I'll check out their IG
-
• #615
One 100k loop I think!

Any thoughts on this? On One Space Chicken SRAM Force 1 Monster Gravel Bike

Looks good. Spec good. Doubt it's going to break on you. Buy it.

Shouldn't be a problem. They're designed for single ring, so that's what the dropped stay is there for. Road cranks + clearance for a fatter tyre.
Not only that, it's not even that unique a design, as MTB have those in the past.
-
• #619
That half way drop chain stay design adobts the goody look, but not the clearance benefit.
-
• #620
I'm not going nuts am I? These don't look like they can clear much that an MTB crank wouldn't be able to clear with that size ring.

Has this been here yet?
32mm tyres with mudguards, 38mm without, not the usual gravel gearing tho.
Waiting for one to turn up so to check if it can take 650b.
In that case we could have the first HHSGB (with some ps help):

What's the point of those with that gearing?

• #623
Relatively flat but treacherous terrain?
I personally would prefer to have a 50-12 than a 42-11.Would have been slightly different if it had 29er on.

flat but treacherous terrain
Wut?
To do what with it exactly? Wouldn't it be better to run 32mm tyres at that point and be done with it?
Not sure I've ever been in a on road situation where I thought...'shit..it's getting lairy, wish I had 47mm tyres to help me out'
I seems like everyone is slapping horizons on bikes and shoving them out of the door with out any forethought on the purpose of the thing. -

Then again...I work in the bike industry so not sure what the fuck I'm talking about.
What counts as mindless?
