  • I might go the whole hog and provide a full Gamelan.

  • Need to see a bit more adopting and a bit less shopping in this thread ...

  • Need to see a bit more adopting and a bit less shopping in this thread. I wonder how many puppy owners here even went to a rescue home before purchasing.

  • Rescue dog pic excuse....yay.

  • Current rescue dog...

  • Rosa chillin

  • Previous Battersea hound...

  • what breed/cross is Geoff? He looks great.

  • Maybe some of them fell off their high horses on the way...

  • Touché you bugger.

There are so many pretty decent dogs worth training/giving a home to who are getting put down, whatever your feelings about my preciousness.

  • Over in Malta my aunt heads to the dog-shelter on her free days and takes a couple of dogs out for a walk (or, one very large dog), she can't commit to re-homing them but does this as it's what she can do, I like the idea - I'd be a fan of taking a dog round the park rather than it staying in a kennel when I had the time to do so, is this a thing that one can do in London?

  • My wife was given her first dog and our second is a recovered hound.

  • I feel really bad now. We had to drown thirty unsuitable puppies before we chose the one that we wanted.

  • Battersea has volunteer dog walkers, I think you have to commit to a certain amount of hours though. Battersea Park is often full of people walking dogs wearing smart "I need a home" jackets.

  • I'm kidding. Kudos to those who take in rescue dogs. Personal circumstances don't always make it the best or a viable option, though.

  • He's some kind of patterdale/fell terrier crossed with a honey badger. Fantastic, but can be a little fucker too

  • aw cute, looks like my mini-schnauzer a bit

  • Thanks for recommendation, we'll go check 'em out. Three weeks until we collect him, much excite. Not a rescue pup but he'll be second in command to our rescue cat.

  • Thought I'd share the litter we've recently had. The missus quit her job to breed full time and had her first litter four weeks ago. Our girl Angel was scanned for 6 pups but ended up having 8 girls and 1 boy!

Looking after 9 pups is the hardest thing I think I've done and I've only been helping out here and there. I don't think the missus has left the house for more that 20 minutes in the last month, bless her.
