Not come across that little problem-solver, that's a good one to know.

Nice! You're Manchester, right? I'll keep an eye out. Matching bottle & chainstay guard is great.
Did lol at hands in pic.

Blue Lug instagram is worth a follow.

Front brake and guards ruining the look. -
• #14182
Yep I am! Shout up if you see me. I ride with Paul R, Steve M and the grassupthemiddlecc lot if you know em? Come on a ride if ya dont!

Those VO bikes look great. Really heavy, but great. Love the fork. Blue Lug do some lovely builds.
-
• #14184
I follow grassupthemiddlecc and steveshairylegs and have been toying with the idea of asking to come on a ride actually, cheers! river camp coffee looks like a laugh too. Is there room for two orange cross-checks though?
-
• #14185
@alialias I doubt you'd be discriminated! I believe there are two purple stragglers in our midst...

Grassupthemiddle looks like my kind of cycling club. Wish I lived nearer to Mrc than I do, would be excellent to hook up with like minded folk. Nice website, will follow your adventures. If you're ever out Cheshire East/ Macc forest way give us a shout.

There was talk of a Macc Forest bivi but it got cold and wet and gross outside.
I've been riding from Macc to Tatton to meet up for Sunday breakfasts over the last couple of months to keep up appearances and for a good natter (and occasional breakfast beverage)

There's not a lot more functional I can add to this thing. Need to shorten the cables as they're in the way of stuff I put on the front rack, and maybe replace the front rack with something that has a flat top (Pizza rack?).
Toying with a dynamo hub as this one needs replacing soon. No great need for power, but that Shimano one is pretty affordable.

I've plans to get out to Macc forest when the weathers better. Never been... Will give you a shout. You can keep up with our activities on instagram best...

Liking the bike. I'm on the look out for a Blackburn Outpost rack if you decide to shift it.
-
• #14191
Mine is only a couple of months old but has wear marks. Stays aren't cut down though. If I can find a Pizza rack in stock then this'll be available.
-
• #14192
Keep me in mind. I've got a functional 1992 Stumpjumper waiting for it.
-
• #14193
What do people think of this as a commute/light tour hub? I don't know how dynamos are best set up: where does the cabling go?
-
• #14194
Does the job, I'm sure you can get a complete front wheel, check Spa Cycles?
-
• #14195
Yep, would definitely like to meet up for a Macc forest ride. Don't know what kind of distances you boys like to cover, but Macc forest, Sutton, Wincle (good pub, Ship Inn), Bosley, back to Macc along the canal towpath.
-
• #14196
Sounds ace! Theres a brewery at Wincle too isnt there? We cover all distances really. Sometimes even just 10 miles for breakfast and coffee...
-
• #14197
Is that a christmas tree?
-
• #14198
General consensus is that the shimano hubs are long lasting and reliable. I have the 3N80 and it hasn't skipped a beat, even with a lot of wet riding. Mine's just cabled up the inside of the fork.

I've never used a posh dynamo hub so perhaps I don't know what I'm missing but there's absolutely nothing about my Alfine one that makes me think I should have spent (considerably) more for an SP or Son.
-
• #14200
I can't see an Alfine at considerably less than an SP. Not saying they can't be had, or SP are especially better. How much did you pay for yours?
Edit: I see you were refering to the shimano jobber in that link. Spa have SP PV8 for £22 more, but the only real advantage will be that it's prettier / lighter. Then again you can service the bearings on the Shimano to a point.
Yep! 9spd Mtn has same pull as 10 speed road STI
