  • Leaving the casino but asking if we can still play the games from the street?

  • Leaving the casino, owing them £80bn, barred from all other casinos until we agree terms with each individually but still with the gambler's optimism that a big win is around the corner.

  • That island houses the financial capital of Europe.

    not for much longer.

  • I don't get all these Brexit analogies. None of them really make sense.

EU need us more than we need them, we leave, they negotiate new terms, we restructure a new deal.

  • This, alllllll of those firms started making plans to pull out and relocate to the mainland as soon as the vote was done. Now that May has signaled a hard brexit you can bet this has forced these plans into action.

  • EU need us more than we need them, we leave, they negotiate new terms, we restructure a new deal.

    Are you trolling or delusional?

  • Eh, I mean when you have this kind of nativist discourse - where the nation state is supposed to "look after its own", defined in xenophobic terms - it's ripe for some nasty shit to bubble to the surface.

  • A market of circa 600 million needs a market of 60 million more?

    Riigghhhtt.

  • Sounds like that anus needs a temp ban then...

  • I do know the build quality was crap. They were rust buckets and the Lucas wiring was very unreliable even when they were new. But build quality was generally lower then, it wasn't just BL.

  • EU need us more than we need them

This is a bold premise to start from with no evidence.

  • I think the people of Europe appreciate the 70 odd years of peace and stability that the EU has brought far more than blinkered little Englanders can understand.

  • I'd be very interested in seeing some evidence for the assertion - it's been made by a few people, but I've never seen anything to back it up.

Also, as AndyP points out, it's a bit like the Isle of Mann telling the rest of the UK that we need them more than they need us.

  • Yes, sometimes you need a crisis or a break, but let's break this down:

Does the UK export or import wanted goods?
Does it have a food surplus or deficit?
Does it have an oil surplus or deficit?

Suppose this screws the economy, will it improve other indicators?
    A fairer society?
    No more foodbanks?
    No more NHS crisis?
So far the signs ain't great.

And the economy is people. Money is what keeps us fed. A crash isn't a laughing matter and some will die. I am starting to realize that now as well, even though I can absorb a bit.

  • werd.

    get well soon.

  • poster has differing if somewhat fanciful opinions that run contrary to prevailing inclinations: TROLL.

    fuck sakes, get a grip.

  • Banned for offering an alternative opinion to yours? Seriously, are you that fragile?

I came on here in support of Gina Miller, and tried to balance out some of the distasteful generalisation of people who voted Brexit. I tried to offer some reasons why people might have voted Brexit.

I agree that most of the suggestions I have offered don't really hold up, but they are just suggestions.

You don't have to agree but is important to understand why people vote as they do.

I also should have used more question marks. Apologies. for instance:

"EU need us more than we need them?"

^ maybe some people assumed this, it seems daft but people might think that. Thats not my opinion

  • Spreading shit around to get people riled up is a waste of legitimate debate.

and I'm not fragile at all, I'm more than happy to continue refuting your "suggestions and ideas" as you say they "don't really hold up."

  • ^ internet's friendliest forum.

  • But you posted this

This, alllllll of those firms started making plans to pull out and relocate to the mainland as soon as the vote was done. Now that May has signaled a hard brexit you can bet this has forced these plans into action.

Do you actually believe what you posted? If so, can you show evidence? Not the setting up an office in Frankfurt, but actually pulling out of London.

  • "EU need us more than we need them?"

What Mark Carney thinks. One of those "experts". The EU has more to lose from hard Brexit than the UK, Mark Carney says

  • LOL. You posted a fucking gif then called me an anus.

Am calling bullshit. No one is that stupid. who are you?
