I'd walk to roxburger (10 mins tops down Lee high road) for an ace burger and some nice booze. Or meze mangal, which is a bit further and in the new cross direction (turkish). More pubby - the ladywell tavern used to be a solid offering but haven't been since they changed the sign so no idea what it's like now.

Levante (Turkish) on high st opposite the shopping centre is good food. Someone recommended the Fox and Firkin recently, I haven't been yet but planning on checking it out. It's also on the high st but further south towards the junction with Ladywell rd.
