There's a lot of smug hatred directed at "thick people" in this thread with this phrase seeming to describe some lumpen mass of unevolved, irredeemable troglodytes with very few here recognising that there is a link between poor reasoning and lack of education. Hence people aren't necessarily born inferior (as many here seem to regard the masses) as compared to the many condescendingly superior, well educated, morally sound persons populating this forum.
Vast swathes of the country have been left to rot economically, socially, thus also in terms of lack of investment in education and the infrastructure to support those who want to teach themselves.
