  • Tried the two on the left. Not seen the ones on the right yet.

  • I've had all before except Sint Amatus. Going to sit on them for a while.

  • Not yet. They're in my 'cellar'. :)

  • Ha! I went to Kris Wines in London for the first time today and he recommended the Pannepot and a Jopen

  • Good place that, they've got a sister shop in Cambridge near the station too.

  • Update, that Pannepot was grim

  • I'm going to admit it, I haven't enjoyed any De Struise beers yet except the Imperialist Pils and that was a collaboration.

That Rye Quad was fucking rank.

  • I wasn't overly impressed with two of their Tsjeese series, 2015 and 2013 I think.

Aestatis and St. Amatus were nice, Black Albert and Cuvée Delphine verged on outstanding.

  • best leave that 2015 for a few years and get the 2012. that's lovely.

  • The mistake you're all making here is drinking Belgian beer instead of Yorkshire beer.

  • Black Albert is incredible but I haven't been a huge fan of any of the other De Struise beers I've had. Just had a look and I've got a 2012 bourbon barrel aged Reserva Rye Triple (their spelling) in the cupboard. There was also a bottle of Beavertown Heavy Water which must have been from around the same time in there that I'd forgotten about

  • Mmmmm Heavy Water, crack that baby open

  • I have both Pannepot 2012 and Blue Monk. Both superb. Brought several back.

  • Weird Beard have just released a wee heavy ale. Fingers crossed it's up to their usual standard and they haven't done anything silly like making it hoppy.

  • Making a rare trip to East London this weekend to check out Howling Hops and Mason & Co. Got dinner booked at Duke's Brew and Que, mmm ribs.

  • Im not sure what changed, but I actually rate Crate beer now. Might be worth dropping in as you'll be next door

  • Yeah I never rated them but have heard good things lately

  • I thought Mason and Co. was rubbish, it was dead when I went (a Thursday in a large group), lacked atmosphere, smelt a bit weird and the selection of beer was unexciting. Hopefully will be better on a weekend!

  • Mason and Co have a Wylam tap takeover tonight so I'm hoping they'll be some beers leftover from that on Saturday

  • Get the mixed plate that has the beef rib, pork rib and brisket. It's nuts. Don't eat for a day before you go.

  • Oh yeah already eyed that bad boy up

  • M&S on TCR still have a load of Sierra Nevada Nooner pilsners for £1.29 in their fridge which seems a bargain if you are in the area.

  • Was skeptical about Thornbridge's sours and thought they were priced too high (seen them from £11 - £18 for 375ml bottle) but Simon got me Love Among the Ruins for Christmas and it is delicious. It's a sour red aged in burgundy barrels with cherries.
