  • SOLD!

I'm selling this very nice Batavus Professional, with Columbus SLX tubing.

    Seat tube: 58 cm c-t.
    Top tube: 56 cm c-c
    Rear width: 130 mm.

All pictures can be found here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/79082624@N08/albums/72157679177747715

I got this Batavus from the first owner, he ordered it in 1994. He didn't liked the colors that Batavus had in that time, so the paint job was done on his request by Batavus. So you won't find another Batavus in this color scheme!

The Professional serie was the most high end serie from Batavus. It's full made out of Columbus SLX tubing, Cinelli Microfusion lugs and bracket, and with Campagnolo ends. The engraved rear stay and brake bridge make it even more lovely.
The frame is still in a very good condition. It has got some spots, but nothing serious. The worst spots are underneath the downtube, but that's not in a visible place. I've pictured the worst spots in the picture album. The chrome is also in an overall good condition. The front fork does show some pitting, it's hard to photograph. The chrome on the rear stays is in a very good condition. It has always been conserved in a clear coat. I took most of the clear coat of, because it did let loose. Now it looks very shiny. Note: the frame comes without Shimano 600 headset. The Shimano bottom bracket still runs smooth.

I would like SOLD! posted. Excluding paypal fee.
    Dibs then PM.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me anything.

  • You always have nice looking bikes for sale.

  • Pricedrop 190 pounds posted now

  • What the bottom bracket threading?

  • Most likely to be BSA. It isn't stamped in the BB. I will check it tonight.

  • Looks loverly. Dibs, and PM....

  • Checked today. It has indeed english (BSA) threading.

  • Awesome, I realised I do have one more important question which is the seatpost diameter! what is it? sorry mate!

  • I'm undibsing as slightly too big I think. Nice looking frame, GLWS

  • I once owned a Batavus Pro...lovely frame and whoever buys it will not be disappointed.

  • I'm now edging toward it if the seatposr is 27.2

  • Thanks man! Batavus Professionals are indeed lovely bikes. I also ride myselve a Batavus, Columbus SL.

  • The seatpost is size 27.0. I do have a Dura Ace one for sale, which also came with this bike: https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/298694/#comment13416523

  • Damn man, you're having some beautiful bikes on here at the moment. GLWS!

  • very very tempted now, especially with SLX

  • I can understand. It's a very nice frame and Columbus SLX is a nice and wanted tubeset. But it's up to you.

  • Fuck it, I'm buying it, I measured my current frame and it's exactly the same size, should be a nice change from a budget Italian early 90's frame to this.

  • That if the c-t-t seat tube is definitely 58cm.

One more question (sorry!), rear brake cable routing, it is full housing throughout or there's a cable stop inside the top tube on each end?

  • It's definitely 58 cm. Measured it, and it's also stamped in the BB.
I thought it's full housing trough, will check today.

  • Please do scoble, put me out of my misery!

  • Checked today. Cablehousing has cablestops. When you put the innercable in, it will come out on the other end.

  • Brilliant, thank.

Cable stop mean less housing compression going to the rear brakes = sharper feel.

  • Sold!
