Cut a cauliflower into 'steaks', sprinkle with oil, salt and pepper then crumble your cheese over it... Whack it in a hot oven til it's crispy at the edges and wolf down...
I do this with grana padano all the time, it's fucking delicious with a salad... Throw a couple of grapes into yours...

Stuff pitted dates with stilton, wrap them in squares of puff pastry, and seal twisting them like wrapped candies. Repeat, bake, eat. It's proven to be an ever winning appetizer! Works well with figs too!

In other news, made vegan flapjacks from scrap the other night for my first time. Will never buy them again, so easy to make loads!

So on my pizza trip of london so far I've tried a good few,
Santa Maria in Fulham or chelsea as they are calling it but its absolutely fulham. Pizza was good as a Neapolitan one, menu I found a little confusing, The garlic bread was burnt and they dont sell Coke which I was shocked at as it the only place Ive ever been that doesn't sell it.Service was also pretty shite too, the girl that serviced us was useless. Maybe the one in Ealing is better dunno.
Homeslice in Shoreditch, Pizza was ok got a salami one and the salami I found was pretty tasteless. The service was lacking which is ridiculous considering they have all got a cheek of adding a service charge on top.
Yard Sale Pizza, really nice pizza, and the guys that were in the one I was in Arsenal were pretty on point too.
So far the best pizza Ive had was at shoreditch house, pretty much a Neapolitan pizza but the salami they use was unbelievable tasty and spicy also the service was on point.

Had lunch at the brasserie in the Vincent Rooms yesterday.
Very impressed with the food. The service is occasionally a bit nervous, but the whole point of the place is that everyone is learning.

I've been a couple of times too, cheap for what you get but the atmosphere is a bit weird/lacking, like you're playing the part of a diner in a play.

I did but they left some of the grey membrane stuff on. I got as much of it off as I could and then chucked it into the curry sauce I'd made earlier.

Stingray Globe Cafe, 109 Columbia Rd, London E2 7RL - they have nice pizzas, good price, service is nice. It can get busy in the evenings but as we always roll in around 8-9PM, easily can get table.
Shoreditch House aka Pizza East? They have keyrings which gives you 50% of total bill (works out 37% after service charge) on Mondays and lower discounts on lunch times on other days. You have to pay full one time and then ask for keyring.

Uhm.. I pretty much eyeballed it without writing it down, you can try it like this:
75g crunchy peanut butter (get the one with no added sugar)
75g honey or syrup
50g dark sugarHeat in a pan and mix, add 200g oats (for a better mix you can previously wizz half of them in the processor)
Stir and if too dry add more butter/syrup
Then add your flavor, coconut flakes, chopped dates, raisins, dried fruit, nuts, cocoa powder, dark chocolate, goji berries, you name it.
Turn off and pour the whole thing on a board with greaseproof paper, add another sheet on top and flatten that thing with a rolling pin to your desired thickness.
Bake for 20/25min at 180. Let it cool down before cutting it into bars/squares.
I brought some on the ride yesterday, they were a hit! (Although hard like marble in the freezin cold of yesterday)

Went to Billingsgate yesterday morning, as I had in mind a dinner based solely on prawns, two kg of prawns became:
- Parwns guacamole cocktail
- Prawns peas and vodka cake
- Prawns white wine ragout tagliolini
- Prawns burger
All very good, also thanks to the quality of the prawns!

Or you can buy salt cod in most south London cash and carry places... Not quite the same thing tho'...

Great stuff. Mrs c00ps says ta. Hers usually ends up crumbling into granola.
I've got a pot(?) of Stilton left over from Christmas.
Any ideas for a (vegetarian) recipe that involves somehow making it crispy? I can give or take blue cheese most of the time, but it's unbeatable when it's baked.
