For sale, Dahon Speed 7. £50, collection only from Sutton (SM2).
IIRC this is a 2007 model. I’ve had it since new. As the name suggests it’s 7 speed.
Things that I’ve changed from factory spec:
Handlebars: I changed to some odd looking trekking bas to give a bit more reach (I’m 6’3”). Original flat bars are included.
Tyres: Schwalbe Marathon Racers. A bit worn but I’d guess there’s another 500 miles left in them.
Stem/steering mast: Replaced under warranty by Dahon as the original one snapped at the hinge. The replacement is of a different design so I assume this was a design fault that got rectified somewhere along the line.
Obviously this bike is nearly 10 years old so it is not pristine. A few things worth noting:
The grip tape on the trekking bars is very tatty.
The bungee cord on the rear rack is a bit stretched so needs to be wrapped around twice.
All the drivetrain and cabling (apart from gear inner) is original. Everything is a bit crunchy, although I’ve experienced no ghost shifting once it’s in gear. If you have higher standards than me you might want to replace some consumable parts. Chain is filthy.
The bike comes with a carry bag. I’ve crudely patched the inside with some old denim as a seam started splitting. A new split has developed that I haven’t patched.
