Was better with steel forks regardless of paint. The internet bike community is so fickle - everyone loved the fact that it came with a steel fork before and now everyone's like 'ah this is the best thing ever. All City themselves are like 'ah man we are so stoked that we can save 1.45 lbs and offer this to you by collabing with our bros at Whisky on a carbon fork'. It's like, na, the big wigs at QBP wanted to shift more Whisky and get the name out there to more people so probably decided to shove a fork on the All City.
Mr pink has gone from a ten to a seven.

Isn't that the case with All City as a whole though?
I mean, for every new product launch it seems like the becoming more and more bland - like they wanted to sell more bikes instead of making something their own.
And I wouldn't say it's a QBP thing - Surly certainly seems to still make whatever they please. -

tbf no1 makes a decent mid drop full carbon fork .. hiver looks shit and has alloy crown.

Business in wanting to sell more products shocker.

I would say that AC is slowly coming closer to just surlys with more elaborate paint.

Well, Surly not exactly the most innovated company out there, their frames were great 10 years ago, have barely seen little updates.

Fine line to walk isn't?
I mean, I get it - they have to move product to stay in business, but my argument is, that All City is moving away from what drew customers to them in the first place.
Surly seems to be quite able to move forward (edit: adapt) within their segment while All City is making moves between them.
In my opinion, they should've pushed on developing a competitive steel fork instead of going carbon. -

Whiskey is bringing the fork to market as a stand alone.

I don't know, I like the line up nowadays than in the past, especially the Pony Express, the Space Horse Disc (the 650b model actually extremely well proportional in the smaller sizes compare to Surly), the Natural Boy Disc with tapered headtube.
They are still selling most of the original frameset on top of this.

I have to say that my big block was one of my most favourite bikes.

Perhaps. I'm probably never buying a road bike anyways, and I just remembered the Log Lady and the JYD, which I think are really cool.
