I did too - I think the open box offer is only for walnut.
It's a plastic fake veneer, but it looks as good as a plastic fake veneer is ever going to look. Overall I'd say they look not half bad. We've got a load of teak furniture in our living room and they go fairly well with that.
Can take a pic if you like. They're currently on stands but I've bought the wall mount brackets which will gain us a bit of floor space.
Ha - I was worried the bass would be too much for me, they have more the (bigger) Aegis One's they're replacing. I'm very impressed with the amount of bass for the size.

No worries. It was prompted by chainbreaker and motivated by the avoidance of a boring peice of work.
Did both of you go for the walnut? How do they look in the flesh?
