Filming and have managed to get smelly fermented herring on toe cap and sole of my Nike blazer advanced, which has an faux suede upper.
The stink from just the drop of fish juice (surstromming - you can google it for the effect the smell has on people) is horrendous so need to be able to get rid completely or will get work to replace (though I can't find a pair online in my size currently).
So hive mind can I shove them in the washing machine or will I need to have to scrub and scrub and scrub with my dainty hands and soap and water to try and get rid of the smell..

My first thoughts are bicarbonate of soda.
My 5 mins with Google suggests hydrogen peroxide.
I'd have a think about testing the latter on some other fabrics first.
