I have been trying to work this out, some people say they've done it (I was looking at 38s/45mm guard, 42s might be pushing it). A lot of it seems to be to do with where the bosses are welded on. Planning to get a pair of CX9's and get the calipers out.

I definitely want to run 42s and now 100% sure the CX9's won't do it even with a couple of mm leeway on the bosses. Didn't realise the motolites where long pull and can't justify the cost for the sake of experiment at the mo so will stick with the Zeste's I already have for now - getting this bike on the road as soon as possible is more of a priority (as I've sold everything bar my brompton to fund this and other projects!). However, am going to take a longer look at the mini moto at some point and see if the arm length on them gives more height than the other mini-v's out there.
Anyone have experience fitting mini-V brakes to a 650b x 42 set up with mudguards. Thinking TRPs or Paul Minimoto's or Motolites. Do they clear?
This is for a Soma GR build with Hetre's and Berthoud 650b x 50 mudguards.
