I had assumed that the nx5 fingerprint scanner issues I've been having were a software issue, as they happened after an OS update? The fingerprint options seem to have disappeared from Settings too.

Thats exactly what happened to me , (dec Os update) did a factory reset and brought the finger options in settings and managed to get it working for another 3 days and they it disappear again. I contacted LG and within a week i had my phone back with new fingerprint scanner and main board according to what they said ( proven by a new IMEI number )

Damn - exactly the same thing for me.

Tbh, I can't be without a phone for a week - will probably just live with it until I replace it... then send it back for replacement and sell it.
