Dunno what possessed me to do it but I bought these two 45s from Craig Moerer today... Two gaping holes in the singles box now filled... Postage to Oz was only AU$9, I'll be buying more from him cuz that's cheaper than getting something sent up from Sydney!!!

Picked up the vinyl reissue of Kontiki by Cotton Mather last week, first time on wax and it still sounds fantastic for a twenty year old record...

I've been doing a lot of staying at home and, like some sad vinyl-wank hipster, I've started posting some of what I'm listening to on Instagram.

Who cares? Insty is just a bit of fun...

He's awesome, I've bagged some real bargains off him over the years...
I follow him on IG, noticed he was out crate digging today...

I know a couple of people who've got that... I got dragged along to their first reunion shows BITD, surprisingly OK...
My 45s turned up from Craig Moerer, was not disappointed... Two more ticked off the infinite list...
Also ordered the expanded Dusted in Memphis boot by Alex Chilton this week, an extra two and a bit sides of Mogadon induced rock'n'roll genius...

there's only one banger on that album. two okay tunes and the rest is pony. Freelance Fiend, tho...

anyone see the final price on this one? madness...

Yeah, it's rare but it's not even that good a record.
There's a few others up too - Comus is one that is amazing start to finish and that's always expensive.

On the subject of silly early 70s rock, I'm still after a copy of this and I first heard it thirty odd years ago... Hilariously wonderful...

If you guy's are into that 1970 Decca sound, have you jammed T2 - It'll all work out in Boomland way more affordable than Leaf hound.

Too many chords for me... The stoopider the better, in my book... 😊

That Elephant's Memory track is great, never heard that before... Reminds me of this, used to play this 45 out a bit... Or I'd play the flip, Voodoo in You followed by Cher's version of ...Splinters...

I love that Cher version. Took me ages to get a reasonably priced copy, then I went to America for a few months and picked up 3 copies for buttons.
There's a few Willie the Pimp
covers that I used to play: -

it's a cool record. hilarious in parts- I have a reissue of it.
[hang on - I think you put me onto it...]

Yeah, it should be a cheapie, mine was pennies but I've had it forever... I waited and waited to find a reasonably priced and decent nick copy of this and then they went through the roof... Still waiting... Doubt I'll have a lot of luck in Oz but I've been finding weird stuff here for cheap so who knows?!? There should be thousands of them out there... All in flea markets in Belgium, I imagine... 😭😊

That's had a reissue a few years ago - I don't know how often originals appear in the wild.

I almost pulled the trigger on a copy of this the other week, thought better of it and left it... Was going through one of my dusty boxes a couple of days later and there it was on a lovely French EP... I need to play my records more often... Belter of a track...
-
• #249
Yeah that's a great one. I've had some decent luck in rural french fleamarkets (I go to the Gers semi-regularly) and assume I'll find a copy there at some point :-)
Probably my best find was Aphrodites Child - 666 for a Euro. Vertigo spaceship, not swirl, but I'm not complaining for under a quid! -

That was the album, no? Did they do the 45 as well? Lovely little Deram single... Just looked it up on Discogs and there's one up for £30+, might jump on it...
