Preferred the old name, but such a lovely ride around London.

The idea is startlingly simple and familiar: we meet at the Gipsy Hill Tavern, depart for cobbles and climbs aplenty beofre returning to SE19 for food, drinks and BIG SCREEN PARIS-ROUBAIX and a raffle with BIG PRIZES.
Pffft will never catch on

Greetings folks,
This ride is one of cycling's annual 'golden moments'...
It is a great ride whatever it is called.
Nice one Dave. I hope to be joining you again this year.
Peace and love,

Hm ... I think I preferred the old name, as well, but it's still the same great ride and the new name is certainly more distinctive! Good to have it back.

There is some confusion as to how much of London this ride covers....
The organisers would like to point out that it goes nowhere near High Barnet

If Tim keeps posting, this thread will easily be the best on the forum for the next 2 1/2 months. :)

Dear James,
I am loving the leopard leggings in your picture - it's a strong look, sure to be en vogue in Gipsy Hill this spring, but I am sorry I do not understand your two @ things Would you mind explaining for those who are a bit @slowontheuptake

Greetings folks,
Oliver - thank you and my pleasure..... Which brings me on to the following.....
I know the weather is cold here in Sarf Babylon-don but that doesn't mean the training for the Cobblemonster has to stop.
These two were spotted this weekend training for the big day at Eliot Bank which is one the Alps that awaits us on the ride
Peace and love,
Tim

is that @cornelius_blackfoot? Walking? With gears too? pfff

That was the year I had a badly built rear wheel which was so wonky it was rubbing against the chainstay and I had to open the release on the rear brake to allow enough room for the wheel to be readjusted in the dropouts so it would rotate freely.
The walking was because I was fucked from having to ride with it rubbing for the first two thirds before I realised it was fucked...
Anyway as you were... -

Greetings folks,
Don't you just love this triumph over adversity stuff.... This is the power of this wonderful ride. The lovely Cornelius had mechanicals, but the urge to raise some money for charidee meant he persevered and conker-ed this and all the other hills.
Cornelius we salute you...
Peace and love,

Important announcement
I have it on good authority that the organisers would like to point out that there is still nothing to announce about this ride.
Well it can be an up-hill struggle to organise an event like this...
Thanks,
Tim

Hi there
We are no longer known as TLC, we are The Cobblemonster - a new name for an old flame.
After six editions and a years break the former TLC team return with The Cobblemonster, London's original and best Urbosportive!
The new website isn't up yet so please be patient - we are aiming to open the entries in early February. Anybody on the old TLC mailing list will get an email with detail of how to enter then.
As ever our target charity is The Evelina Children's hospital and all profits from the event go their way.
Hope to see you all again on Sunday the 9th of April 2017 at The Gipsy Hill Tavern, London SE19.
Entry here
Cheers
Dave
