Cheapest place to buy v60 filters?
-

Support your local coffee shop, they should only cost a few quid wherever you grab them.

I usually do. Recently, i have been buying from Origin next to my office (big fan of their beans and coffee), but they charge £7 for 40 or something bonkers.. I'm happy to pay the going rate, but not to get ripped off. I already spend £15-20 a week there on coffees and beans.

Is Pact any good? Got one of their offers for a free pour-over set with the first bag but wondering if it's worth it.

Amazon 100 for £7
or
60 for £7 is the going rate I think -

I get mine from whittards. It's £5 a pack of 100 I think. Not really supporting your local coffee shop as I find them awful places, but needs must.

I took the V60 deal too and used them for about six months, the beans were amazing, always fresh never late. However being a student meant that £6.50 was not economical so I drink shit blends most of the time and treat myself to single origin now and again.

We charge £6 for 40 v60 filters. I wouldn't buy them at that price as a customer. That goes for all of the Hario products to be honest. If you can afford it then thats great, but many can't. I support shops by purchasing coffee/tea/food etc, and i'm happy to do so if the price reflects the quality. Trying to compete with the internet on price is a mugs game and one most will lose. The majority of filters we sell are on a Sunday morning when there is no other way to get hold of them.

currently on tesco strength three blend... gonna give these guys a try soon, they seem ethical and not that expensive and do 350g bags which is a happy medium as I found that with pact the 250g were too small.

What's the forum take on Union? I remember interviewing Jeremy Torz for a story on coffee about 8 years ago when they were I guess a little less ubiquitous. Someone bought me a bag recently that I enjoyed in a French press but went to get another and it was about 8 quid for a 200g bag. Nice packaging but I thought a tad steep for a biggish chain? For day to day these days I've taken to getting a few bags of Waitrose '1' when I do an online shop. Get through about 1 bag in 3 days so don't feel it's the worst cost per quality ratio.

The light roast stuff (which is medium) called something like "Bright Note" is greta when fresh. Always check the roast date on the side. When fresh, their beans are as good as some of the best.

Anyone know if any of the boutique roasters do a straight robusta? Bit of chitchat about this subject on another forum I use. A couple of people seem to be up for trying it. Generally frowned upon, using robusta, but rumour has it a good robusta can be better than a bad arabica.
I quite like the astringent bitterness from a robusta blended in, so I'd like to try a straight one.

When they did their super 50% off sale a few years ago I bought about 8 different bags. never got close to finishing most of it. their roast is too dark for my tastes. even their medium roast was too much.

That's a good price

Not sure if it's a sacrilegious question, but does anyone know of any good OTP ground decaff options?
Asking for a friend.

Loving this Dark Arts coffee http://www.darkartscoffee.co.uk/store-1/stone-heart-ethiopia-250g-1
Using it for pour over and it is a corker for that. Cool packaging too.

Looks and sounds good. Their 'Our story' section of the site however makes me want to take a walk into the sea.
