Jo Maugham
Do you know if there is anyway to support him (or anyone doing similar who need support)?

There was a gofundme, but its already ended (and succeeded).

I like what she stands for and would vote SNP given the opportunity to do so.
Very much this...
If only Labour would take a leaf out of their book on how to run an opposition...
And this...

Thanks - I was vaguely aware that there had been something along those lines. Will keep a keener eye on further opportunities.

He sought funding for a first Brexit case, and then helped publicise the People's Challenge which was heard alongside Gina Miller's case, and more recently for the Ireland case.
If you follow him on Twitter you'll find out if any further cases are launched that require funding.

Wow, really? Putting aside that the SNP are very far from being a left wing party, surely their petty nationalism is exactly what remainers should be fighting against?
The leavers want to divide Europe, Nicola Sturgeon wants to sub-divide it even further. It's the same thing.
-
• #6841
In a heartbeat.
Ditto but I thought you hate New Labour?!
The SNP are centrist neocons in nationalist clothing.
-
• #6842
I guess that's one way to look at it, but another way would be she doesn't want anything to do with the car crash little Englanders which the Tories, UKIP and Labour pandering to.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend and all that, there MPs are the only one's other than the liberal democrats and a Green that is going to vote to represent the remainers, not that it'll do any good by the sound of it.

Lack of suitable alternatives.
They're firmly pro EU, how that constitutes to petty nationalism and dividing the EU further is beyond me.
-
• #6844
I'm confused. Are they petty nationalists or neocons in nationalist clothing?
Also, what do you think neoconservative means?
-
• #6845
Also, you say ditto - so you support petty nationalism, neoconservative politics, a further divided Europe (the things which you seem to believe the SNP represent)?

A few comments...
The SNP celebrates everyone IN Scotland...also when they are immigrants. Contrast with Tories atm.
Scotland is in deep disagreement with Westminster and how it runs things. I can't abide it either ATM but even with devolved power you have to suck things up.Like Northern Ireland and Wales, it does not have enough people to win on votes in matters as Brexit.
I can totally understand the Scots here. Does it divide the UK more? Yes, but it's really not in Scotland's interests to be pulled out of the Single Market, it made that super clear several times and May just steams on.
Will it work? I don't know, independence may just not work for several reasons. But really, Westminster shows little love for North England, NI/Scotland/Wales, so it's not coming out of a vacuum.

Scottish independence is a bargaining chip which the Tories are going to call their bluff on I'm afraid. There are some massive roadblocks to an independent Scotland in the EU.
-
• #6848
You two should just get really fucking drunk.
-
• #6849
They're already halfway there... #mrakisalwaysdrunk
-
• #6850
Indeed. Like there are massive roadblocks to NI joining ROI as well.
But just steamrolling over people's concerns and pretend the UK is "united" won't work.
It needs a new vision on how to work together.
And here's the issue at hand:
