  • I like what she stands for and would vote SNP given the opportunity to do so.

Wow, really? Putting aside that the SNP are very far from being a left wing party, surely their petty nationalism is exactly what remainers should be fighting against?

The leavers want to divide Europe, Nicola Sturgeon wants to sub-divide it even further. It's the same thing.

  • I guess that's one way to look at it, but another way would be she doesn't want anything to do with the car crash little Englanders which the Tories, UKIP and Labour pandering to.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend and all that, there MPs are the only one's other than the liberal democrats and a Green that is going to vote to represent the remainers, not that it'll do any good by the sound of it.

  • Lack of suitable alternatives.

They're firmly pro EU, how that constitutes to petty nationalism and dividing the EU further is beyond me.

  • A few comments...

The SNP celebrates everyone IN Scotland...also when they are immigrants. Contrast with Tories atm.
Scotland is in deep disagreement with Westminster and how it runs things. I can't abide it either ATM but even with devolved power you have to suck things up.

Like Northern Ireland and Wales, it does not have enough people to win on votes in matters as Brexit.

I can totally understand the Scots here. Does it divide the UK more? Yes, but it's really not in Scotland's interests to be pulled out of the Single Market, it made that super clear several times and May just steams on.

Will it work? I don't know, independence may just not work for several reasons. But really, Westminster shows little love for North England, NI/Scotland/Wales, so it's not coming out of a vacuum.
