Carbon rims - wide gravel / CX

Posted on
  • Bit of over-stock of 700c tubeless ready clincher rims from my supplier in China. New and un-laced. Rims here in the UK with all shipping / customs paid for.

    Silly light CX / Gravel racing rims. 28mm deep x 29mm wide (21mm internal width) - 380g each, disc brake, both asymmetric. 65-90psi max tyre pressure. 24H front / 28H rear. £160 -> £150 -> £140 each (normally £200) or £300 -> £280 -> £250 -> £240 for the pair.

If you want these built up, let me know privately to discuss build options.

  • Price drop.

  • hello
Whats the max pressure on the gravel rims???? something low id think??

  • Not too low - 100psi recommended max, so useful for road too.

  • oh thats cool. Tempting:)

  • hmmm.
The Yishun bike website states the max pressure is 65 psi . It clearly is the same rim, right?

  • It's not from them. Xiamen Carbon Speed. I'll double check with the guy that I deal with.

  • Xiamen and Yishun bike both sell the same model, same specs, same titanium wire in the hooks

  • How well do the CX run with tubeless?

  • Must be 65psi then. I was just going of the label, but I think they're generic...

  • Very well. I recommend using gorilla tape and you're good to go.

  • bummer:( i was about to pull the trigger but they would have been for road

  • Yeah, it's defo looks like the same rim, so 65psi max according to Yishun. They do say it's good for road use too, but I would suggest this is a pure gravel/CX rim.

The rep from Xiamen just came back to me and suggests it's 90psi maximum...

I've update the OP to reflect the max tire pressures

  • who rides at 100psi in 2017?!

  • MAMILs or pros

  • Everyone who doesn't listen to scoble

  • Price drop then. £250 per pair.

  • pmd about the first set

  • PM replied to. All rims still available.

  • Rim brake rims sold. Gravel/CX rims still available

  • These look like "an homage" to the Enve XC29er rim, I'm 82kg and run 60psi rear/55psi front in Schwalbe Pro One road tyres on the Enve, tubeless. You'd be losing out significantly on grip and comfort if you went any higher on the pressure, and a fat and feeble person like me rode those pressure to a four and a half hour 100 miles, which given everything else holding me back suggests that the wheels didn't.

I might buy these myself. Hmm.

  • Yeah, pretty much the same thing sans logo and price tag.

  • Little price drop.

  • That's too damn tempting. Dibs gravel rims, will PM in Monday, getting a flight now

  • Rims sold.
