My current car is a 2009 Passat. I paid £10.5k for it in Jan 2013, when it was just over 3 years old and had 20k miles. It was pretty much like new.
Boring but very adequate 140 bhp, 50+ mpg on a run.
I was intending to buy a 2011 Mondeo estate for the same money, also like new, but it had sold by the time I got there so I bought the Passat instead.
From Car Giant btw. Prices are slightly higher than what you can find in autotrader but you can look at a lot of decent cars in one place and by and large they don't have rubbish.
Either option worth considering IMO.
Hello car nerds. Still looking for a car. Have revised budget down to around £10k and have abandoned 4wd and SUV stuff and am now looking at estates. I like the Volvo V60 but can only afford high milers. The smaller/older V50s can be found in budget under 30,000 miles but they're a bit small and dated. Current front runner is any number of low mileage 2011 or later BMW 318 such as the below. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201612300898946?onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=New&maximum-mileage=50000&make=BMW&body-type=Estate&radius=100&year-from=2011&transmission=Manual&postcode=me138sd&advertising-location=at_cars&sort=price-asc&page=1
Any thoughts?
