You know what, you're right. To be honest I've never had any reason to suspect they were anything other than SL tubes, but comparing mine to regular Pinarello forks (from around '85,) they certainly have a lot more pronounced 'aero' shape, particularly at the crown.
That's kinda cool...I feel a bit stupid that you picked that up just by looking at my crappy photos!
Doesn't seem to be much info about Columbus Air out there, do you know when they stopped making it?
Air came out in the early 80's, and been around until the early 90's (mainly on forks, see Tommasini and Somec).
I've seen only a couple of Pinarellos made with that tubing, they were pre-lopro time trial bikes from the mid 80's.
