I love my Bon Jon Extra lights - mine do run tubeless but not at the quoted 90 psi - they sort of settle at around 55-60 but roll really well at that pressure and have so far been pretty good puncturewise - one flat which self sealed. They've been a bit fussy about rimtape creases and had a bit of sidewall leakage but are stable now.
Super comfortable and grippy. Lovely ride.
They have been surprisingly cut resistant and are wearing well. Used for CX commuting, a bit of rough stuff and even a frosty clubrun- where they totally held their own on my Tripster with Mudguards amongst the Cervelos and Aero Carbons. -

+1 for the Vittoria Hypers. I run the 35mm on my cross check and they're comfy, pretty light, roll as fast as you could expect 35s on a surly, and confidence inspiringly grippy, even in wet.
Not the sexiest tyre in the world but for the price they seem like a really good all rounder to me.

Very impressed with Hypers. On a par with Compass for sure.

I'm sure I paid about £10 each from Planet X for some Hypers. Really decent, especially for that money. Just resolutely unsexy.

If it was the brown ones, they are lower tpi. If you got the black ones for that price - awesome.

£20 for the 120 tpi at the moment - still a good price:

They're the 120 ones with reflective stripe. I've got xplor MSO on my day-to-day bike at the moment but should dig my voyagers out really. It's not like I ever do any muddy riding.

After the recommendations from here I bought a pair of Conti GP 4 seasons. 28c rear and 25c front.
Have had them on for 2 weeks now and they feel great. Improved my confidence on the bike and feel a lot more stable.

Lol. Bought hypers for my dads bike.
Dad bike tyres.

Currently have the G-Ones (38c) on the 3T. Early impressions are very positive. Fast, Grippy, comfy. Recommended for other gravellers.

planetx figuring out that people want to buy their tires at £13 (36mm) and £16 (32mm) so they put em both up to £20... dicks.

One day that'll be you on a "dad bike"!
I took my "dad bike" (complete with 37c Hypers) out on the club ride this morning, as I couldn't stand the shame of turning up with no mudgaurds when it was clearly gonna piss down all morning.
The weight of the bike hurt a bit on hills but the Hypers rolled very nicely and I was most glad of full mudguards.
Would ride heavy bike with nice fat tyres again.

If anyone is still riding lightweight narrow clinchers inflated to high pressures Chainreaction are selling Vittoria Diamante Pros for £12.99. Same as the velodrome specific Pro Pista but with an added puncture protection belt and only 170g.

Schwalbe one finally getting gum walls...only for Australians for now though.

• #3993
Bit late now. Gum walls were so 2013. Think I'm going back to black this summer:

Just received a pair of gravel kings and the bead is very exposed all round both tyres - what do people think of this? Acceptable? Safe?

Currently running gatorskin hardshell, but the price for a pair is putting me off another pair, but not ruling it out.
Does anyone have any other recommendations for an everyday road/commuter tyre? -
• #3996
Ribmos - ultimate for commuting/general use

• #3997
Seconded
-
• #3998
Panaracer? How do they compare to conti gatorskin hardshell? Not a great deal in difference between costs.
-
• #3999
Longer lasting, grippier, better ride quality, not gatorskins.

Regular readers will have noted that I'm far from being an expert, but I'd be concerned about the bead coming away from carcass.
Presumably they don't normally look like this?
Contact retailer, UK distributor, manufacturer (in ascending order of reassurance, but descending order of expected speed of response).
I haven't plotted it yet, but more or less following the Rhine first (Eurovelo 15), then the Danube (Eurovelo 6) and go south from Serbia into Bulgaria and then into Turkey
