  • Appears to be quite a bit of love for the offerings from Bowman Cycles on the forum. They seem to have hit that sweet spot of building good looking frames with great tube profiles, plenty of options for tyre sizes, guards etc with names the local clubmen/women love. Seem to be quite a few cropping up on the forum now too.
I'm currently building up a Rich Mitch Foots Cray for commuting duties. Whatchu got?

  • My Pilgrims. Commute machine/ winter trainer.

  • Have always admired that paint job

  • building up a Rich Mitch Foots Cray for commuting duties

    *weeps*

  • Got it second hand for a very good price :)

  • That looks lovely. Is that one of the 3D printed mudguard mounts?
I've ordered one as they look very nice but at £25.00 + VAT, nice but pricey.

  • Sure is. The rear one is a bit weak, doesn't grip the stays very well at all. I'll take some pics of my "modifications".

  • Got a Palace from the second batch in May 2015

  • Would love a Pilgrims. Seems like a solid move into modern bikes for me: tapered headtube, post mount disks. Only thing missing would be thru-axle on the front I guess?

  • New Pilgrims Way is being tested soon

    Flat-square tubing
    Flat mount brakes
    Thru-axles
    Removable cable guides
    Threaded BB

  • Thru-axles

Wonder what size they'll be front and rear?

  • 12x100, 12x142

  • General time to move from prototype? I'm expecting >6 months

  • Speaking of which, my CL RS4's 142/12 & 100/15 turned up today for my build. So beefy. Pretty sure I read that Hope had made them quieter but that certainly doesn't see to be the case. Full steam ahead with my build now.

  • So Graeme came over to my house and dropped the mudguard mount off in person. 10/10 would trade again! Amazing service. Thanks
@Croft , keen to see your bodge!

  • He did the same for me. Good dude.
    Zip ties x4.

  • Interesting. I noticed this morning that mine was looking a bit weak and rubbish. Still does the job but definitely not a strong grip on the stays.

I got some of the 3D printed fork mounts in the envelope with the rear bridge, but my fork was a newer one with the right holes in so they're surplus to requirements. If anyone needs them lemme know.

  • I think I read somewhere on the gramz that they're expected around oct/nov.

  • Freshly built in on road guise.
Needs some much larger tyres for off road.

  • Hello Bowpeople - I've just finished a rough build up of my Pilgrims and first impressions are pretty good - quick and snappy but stable and quite comfy.

However...what can I do about the cable slap - the tranquility of Hampstead Heath was being wrecked by the sound of internal cables tapping away on the insides of the downtube. Any handy hints?

  • The loud squeak of my mudguard bridge on the seat stays distracts me from my internal cable slap (which I have as yet failed to resolve).

  • Mine is silent.
