  • Yes. Let them out.

  • Would be fine in London. More outdoor SE London cats for me to stroke on the streets please.

  • I'm in Lewisham, just off Lewisham road, my cat goes out all the time, doesn't go near the road, tends to go in all the gardens behind us.

Visit a cat rehoming centre, there are literally 1000's of cats that need homes.

  • Cheers everyone, indoor/outdoor it shall be!

  • Invest in a good catflap, or else prepare for a lot of door opening / closing

  • This is my life now.

  • You and @lynx! Cats love stealers!

  • Holy shit your grey tom cat (?) looks just like mine? Is it a purebred or domestic long hair?

  • Just discovered this thread, and seeing as I am 2 whole weeks into cat ownership, thought I'd share! This is Higgs (the one with the half/half face) and Reno (white belly). They came from a rescue centre who refused to separate them as they're best buds. They're both at around 6 months now, one week after arriving Reno had a pretty nasty fever, possibly linked to some kind of worm. Now one week later she's still got a bit of trouble breathing when she starts purring (must resist cuddles!) and eating, but definitely improving daily. Anyway, they're bat-shit mental, especially as we're keeping them inside until spring when they've been sterilised!

  • Yeah I kind of agree that she doesn't necessarily have a 'problem' with humans, being a bit bitey is a normal way for cats to communicate with each other and she might just not have really been trained or forgotten (or, being a cat, doesn't care) that humans aren't into that.
Only if she seems anxious/stressed that it's a problem. But hopefully for you she adapts...

  • I'm on the outskirts and have always had an indoor/outdoor cat. No problems at all, aside from my neighbours wanting to give them treats, which I put a stop to. (Someone fed Sam7 chicken curry; he was sick 18 times on the carpet in 12 hours and spent 3 days in hospital).

I am however planning to ensure Sam9 has a gps cat tracker when I start to give him freedom, if only for my own peace of mind.

  • Looks more like a Harvey ;)

  • I also have a cat called Higgs:

  • Nice cats!
Yea I bet they can't wait to roam the outdoors..

  • Opie Cat.

He's started sleeping in the bed with us and taking up more space than a little cat could possibly ever need.

  • haha, nice! We were gonna go for Newt and Reno (I did my master thesis at CERN, geeking out...) but I couldn't quite face having a cat called Newt.

  • Fleur, avec les fleurs.

  • Fleur is so cute, more pictures pls!

  • Yesterday was her first trip to the vets with us. Poor thing was throughly petrified and screamed all the way there. Woman in the waiting room insisted on fussing over her scaring her more :(
Vet was awesome though, jabs done and all good.

  • Moar.
She's wonderfully affectionate but a proper scaredy cat. Vet recommended we try a feliway plug.
