• I'm quite a way from London but do visit for work occasionally, so that's good to know; thanks.

Is the Jagwire Keb-SL a true linear cable or Jagwire's version of compressionless? I've got some Jagwire (don't know the code) that my LBS said was compressionless, but it's far from great.

  • but it's far from great.

That because of the Kevlar being used rather than an outer coiled housing.

The Yokozuna Reaction is a true compressionless housing, however your braking performance could well be the pads not sitting straight on the calipers (quite common) resulting in a soft feel and/or the mount not 100% straight.

  • Is there a diagram, tech drawing, spec or testing to back up these "truly compressionless" claims? I bet they haven't squeeze the gaps out between every atom. Lying bastards.

  • I'm confused. Why is the kevlar worse than a coiled outer. I believed the kevlar was there, as snottyotter suggested, to stop the cable bursting under load. I thought the linear strands kept the length constant.

Regarding pad alignment do you mean the pads not being parallel to the rotor? I had wondered about this. They do look to be off a very slightly. The frame rear spacing is 132.5mm. Presumably this makes the brake adaptor mounts not perfect for either 130 or 135mm OLD hubs.

I'm sure this is an issue with my commuter setup atm (Spyre's on Shimano centrelock rotor). How could I remedy?
