  • I dont get the whole steerer suspension/ seatpost suspension larger volume tyre thing going on right now. I mean the purpose of buying a carbon frame is for the stiffness. If you want some give in your ride then just buy a steel or more forgiving frame. Somebody in marketing has kept their job for another year. My 2 cents.

  • Wider tyres and rims are better for aero purposes. They also give better grip and rolling resistance. Most old frames can't accommodate these benefits.

    The point is to make it stiff under power but compliant when the road surface is poor. As the old saying goes, laterally stiff, vertically compliant. Making the whole thing a floppy noodle isn't really the answer.
