I would get a backup and clone the drive if possible, you might have a problem with the hard drive, ssd would be less likely to fail this way but mechanical hard drive failure could be a possibility.
If you're not running ssd on that machine I'd be surprised :)
I wouldn't rule out ram problems either. Unless you've just done something drastic with the data and it's reindexing the whole lot.
