Ah shit - sorry to hear that dude. Report the fucker, they'll almost certainly do nothing but you'll have it recorded. Hope there's not too much damage - does the bike have an OEM toolkit under the seat? Should be possible to bend that lever enough to get the brake hopefully.
On protective jeans and stuff, it's only ever been the armor that has done me any good. Most injuries from drops round town tend to be impact on knees and hips from hitting the road and tumbling. Often as not you won't be going fast enough to pick up much abrasion.
Decent jeans and MX knee / hip armor you can just slip off when you get to work would be good. (Though admittedly don't do much to mitigate foul and odious wet weather....)
Well that escalated quickly. I left work at 5 to light rain. By the time i'd got to Bromley it was an inch of snow / slush and drivers were being arseholes.
I made it to two roads from home when a driver pulled straight out in front of me (would have struggled to stop in the dry at 30). I was doing less than 5 but had nowhere to go and went down (avoiding his car).
He then decided to offer to fight me for daring to claim it was his fault before driving off before the bike was off the floor. FP09 HEV incase i forget before the police report.
Foot brake is crushed (on) so I could only move it about 5ft and part it at the side of the road.
Only one person stopped to ask if i was okay.
