I reckon that's just the plastic protective film stuff, you can take pleasure in peeling it off.
Also, no idea why they're saying you can pre-order the black one. It appears identical to mine which I got a year or so ago. Unless there's been a further redesign or something?

no idea...
It will have to wait in any case, but I'm currently happy with my wee amp for now.

Yes. Put the speakers in the corner of the room.
It will increase the bass, as the walls will reflect it back into the room. Will make the bass less "tight" sounding though due to the difference in time it takes for the sound from the cones direct vs the reflections.

The Pure Jongo is shit. Absolute shit!
Other than the Chromecast audio, are there any other contenders? Just curious.
For some reason I can't find a CCA on Amazon. And nothing cheaper than £30.

I think CCAs are regularly £15 or so in Currys.
Edit: Not at the moment though.

or Maplins
Edit: no, they're back up to £30 there too

Ive been keeping my eye on it for a while and the lowest Ive seen them was £25. I think Ive lost my chance.
Anyone try any other Wifi audio adaptors?

Eltax monitors that I won at £18
Ha! I was going to ask if you won them.
Hard to argue at that price really. Do they have the spikes? Happy to be corrected, but I thought stands mainly raise the speakers to the correct height for your ears. Decent ones do this in a way that reduces vibrations/change in sound.
I'd have thought managing the bass settings on your amp/sound input would be the simplest way.

Yeah! I won them! And youre right, for that price, who's complaining! They're also in very good condition. Definite win.
Its run through the simple SMSL amp and that horrible jongo wifi adaptor so theres no adjustment.

As mentioned - corner loading will get you more bass - but it will muddy the sound.
If you want more bass - buy bigger speakers.

I went from bose micro speakers to Eltax monitors, i agree on bigger speakers. But I know that these can kick out more. I was just wondering if raising them with stands would affect it. Im aware about the boost on placing them in the corners (which they are). The alternative would be the windowsill but that would be much worse I suspect. And ugly.

The Chromecast audios turn up on sale every couple of months or so it seems.

lol

Raising them would lower the loading (assuming they are on/close to the floor) as you will be moving them away from one boundary (the floor) and thus the bass "boost"
It could also be down to a room nodes/acoustics causing bass to be sucked out.
Or you could have just wired them out of phase....

Look on eBay, Currys have got open boxes for £19 at the moment. You never need to pay full price, they are worth £25 though.

done x2
Haha amazing :)
I'd recommend buying via Amazon if possible, the return I did was entirely painless. To be fair it was due to the l&r phono input thing failing, which was changed to 3.5mm Jack input on the pro...
