  • Further tip for the Voyager Hypers: they seem to have a fair amount of greasy mold release compound on them when new, so can be slippy on wet roads for a 100 miles or so. Alternatively you could try scrubbing them thoroughly with e.g. meths or Muck Off. Once 'scrubbed in' they grip wet tarmac very well indeed.

  • Ooh, interesting - had a couple of dodgy moments with mine in the wet when they were new which spooked me, and so have been riding very carefully in the wet with them ever since just in case, perhaps I can be slightly less careful!
