I had a TomTom Rider. The general routing was good and the "Winding Roads" option worked okay, though with a minor propensity to sending you down farm roads. If I wanted to plan a specific route though it was a complete ballache, had to use a computer program to generate a routesheet you could upload to the device and follow.

Oh you're making an app cool!
I use ridewith gps to plan routes. And google to get me places quickest.
