We'll see I guess.. My X9 long cage just about fits over the 42, since it was designed for 11-40 cassettes

Seems it's all just a matter of making it work - though I'm not sure if Grant Petersen is really considered kosher around here.

The SRAM site suggests that the long cage (which this is) will work with 10-42 cassettes, though we'll have to see if that's the case I guess.

Officially probably not but unofficially you'd be surprised how far they'll go Mark at SBC cycles got a zee mech working with a 42 and thats a short cage.
