• Leica iiif, Elmar 5cm, f3.5, Portra 800

Still getting to grips with my Epson v800. Although the internet seems dead set against ICE dust removal - I'll be damned if I'm going to remove it manually in PS!

  • I'm seriously considering a iiia so I was pleased to see good images here - Would you recommend it?
I'd been looking for a Bessa T but was offered a iiia at an attractive price.
I'm happy with light metering and it comes with a good lens, so my only concerns are ergonomic (viewfinder, focussing and general faffing)

  • I got mine for free, from my Grandad and it's in great shape. I love it but there are caveats:
    1) You have to trim the leader of the film and it's quite difficult to load.
    2) The focusing viewfinder is quite hard to use (the mirror in the parallax focus is dull and doesn't produce a clear projection).
    3) While I really like it, the cost to me was nothing - it's a big outlay of cash otherwise.
    4) Old people will approach you a lot when you're using it.

I love it. I don't mind the minor issues. I didn't pay for it.
