Last night I went roughly:

St John's Hill, Lavender Hill etc (A3036) to Vauxhall, then Albert Embankment to York Rd, Stamford St A3200 to London Bridge, A10 north as far as Bethnal Green Road, then to Cambridge Heath Rd -> Mare St and eventually Lower Clapton Rd -> Lea Bridge Rd.

I think my main aim is avoid A3036 -> A3200 and then avoid London Bridge -> A10.

For the first bit, I'd head from Clap J to Battersea park. Enjoy the ambience before heading out across Chelsea Bridge and then along the embankment all the way to London Bridge. Many less lights and some nice sights. After that you're into "therebedragons" land for me. Good luck.

Yes, that's a good shout.

I last rode this journey a couple of years ago and at that time I did experiment with a route through Battersea Park. Will head that way tomorrow.
