The Whipps Cross to Woodford section was pretty much constant mud earlier in the week. I actually gave up and went on the Wooford road instead. I need to get some mud tyres.

Trans Epping -
Details Come join us for the inaugural Trans Epping point-to-point. An
unsanctioned race deep into the forest centre. Rules are simple:
quickest person to the pub wins. You’ll be supplied with a race card
to stamp as you pass through the check points and an OS map to help
you find your way, how you join the dots is up to you. Emphasis is on
good times and its "run what you brung” - road, CX or MTBs are all
welcome, which is the fastest we’ll have to wait and see!Epping is an enchanting forest and if you’re unfamiliar with it, it
will be a chance to discover this incredible leafy corridor, whisking
you straight out of East London deep into this beautiful old woodland.Date: 17.09.16 Start Line: Whipps Cross Pond (east side) Time: 5.00pm
(race length approx. 40 mins) Entry: Free Race as a lone wolf, pair or
group, and please RSVP by email or the Facebook event page here.(NB: Although you can route plan according to your bike, some
checkpoints are in off-road locations, so be prepared to get rattled
around a little bit if you do choose to ride a road bike, or stick
some 28’s on. If it's muddy, good luck!)See the summer out with us and have a little warm up for the cross
season ahead. Hope to see you there. Its tomorrow so best get your skates on.

I can't really offer a guiding service for an orienteering event :-)

• #1734
I know. I was posting it for the interest of anyone wanting to ride in Epping. This seemed like the best place for it. Apologies for confusion.

• #1735
Only kidding. I believe a couple of the regular badgers are taking part.

I don't know if I'll have time yet, but would anyone be interested in a ride sometime between Boxing Day and New Year's Eve?
Obviously a busy time for many, but perhaps I can remain relatively sober for one day..

• #1737
Sounds like a good idea, I'll be up for that!

• #1738
Will update a bit closer to the time then :-)

@Dom @markypoos took your route today, backwards from Epping >>> walthamstow and it was a blast for sure!
Also used (partially) (probably barely) @dicki 's strava route to guide us through the tracks when in the thick of it.
It was such a beaut day and I was dying for that autumn shred feeling.
Drifty AF in that mud tho ^____^ made it all kinds of loose.
Great fun - can't wait to go with all ya'll riders that know the forest next!

Had seen that but its a bit far unfortunately. Takes up the whole day when you factor in a two hour journey there and back
I have to agree with @Dom it is a fantastic route!
