Good rim brakes will be just as good as hydro discs. My ceramic open pros with pads were amazing.
I have both hydro and ceramic open pros. I would always choose hydros for better stopping, wet wether predictability and lower hand fatigue.
You had your hydraulic warranted didn't you?
