I wish the 'reply to' option was specific to the actual statement, not just the writer.
If you select text from a comment and then press 'Reply', it automatically quotes the text.
Edit: I think I misread your comment. However, if people quoted each other more often, conversations would be a lot more clear in my opinion. ¯\(ツ)/¯
