Seems a very difficult task... I would probably settle for something like a Colnago Mexico respray... kind of dark metallic red

That is what i thought...sold one on ebay [this is a disaster story]...but the buyer told ebay it had a poor respray...which i denied but ebay took buyers side without talking to me...lost lots of money and wondering if renovated it would sell better...no dents or dings and the chrome is good for a 20+ year old frame...paintwork as expected is marked with a few touch-ups and head tube decal is marked...i desrcibed the frame as 'not perfect' and supplied 12 photos...ebay do not support sellers that is for sure!

A serious respray is serious money and would probably set you off well in excess of 200 pounds. If you want fancy artwork, you are probably looking in the region of half a grand (or a monkey, if you prefer).
If you then want to sell it on Ebay, it really doesn't make any sense -

have you got a pic of the frame? i love battered nice bikes

If you are going to sell the frame then you're probably better off selling it as is as opposed to spending money you may never get back. If it's for yourself then I'd recommend Argos in Bristol. They renovated my Colnago including re-chroming, respray and new decals. It was a great job but not cheap. But it's mine and I love it (and ride it)

There's an official Colnago sprayer (former paintbrush artist) near my place. It's in Belgium but you can always send him the frame. This is an example of a restoration he did in the past:

you should put it on here and see what offers you get before spending any more on it, less likely to get complaints if good pic's and description explain the issues.

Here you are: http://www.m-level.be/
he's the younger brother of former mountainbike world champion Filip Meirhaeghe.
The aim is to keep the same colour...and maintain/mask the chrome forks and lugs....Can anyone recommend some one to do this? The frame has no dents or dings and the chrome is good but the paint is tired......cheers...Leon
