I'm a top boss, I have a mug confirming this, and I haven't even started back at work yet this year. How do I fit in to these maths?

Just been drinking with him, he remembers conversations from 6 years ago like they happened yesterday. He doesn't remember stuff in between. It's sad to see such a decline in someone so
youngnot that old. -

"A secondhand bookshop owner who has received more than 20 complaints about his rudeness has admitted he was wrong to call a customer a “pain in the arse”.
Steve Bloom, who runs Bloomindales in the Yorkshire Dales, has been criticised for asking visitors for a 50p entry fee, with the chairman of Hawes parish council branding him “the bookseller from hell”.
Bloom, who described himself as “not really a people person”..."

Cops assassinate dude near Leeds. No biggie he was a bit naughty apparently. Well thats fine then. NLP

It must be a minority of people who think it's automatically fine to kill a drug dealer with form for firearms offences regardless of whether he is posing a threat.
The truth is, we don't know what happened yet. He could have been murdered or he could have had his gun in his hand. Suicide by idiocy. I guess we'll find out.
It might be that the biggest crime here is the fact the victim called himself "Stud Badboy".
-
• #43862
I'll reserve judgement until we know more, but so far we've not heard anything of substance from the police. The victim's family have been very vocal.
-
• #43863
Can the family not say more as the police and other law enforcements can only make statements that are a 100% true, which they can't do yet?
Shootings are investigated, this takes time etc...

His mates decided the best way to show solidarity with the grieving family was to heave bricks at coppers.

One of those arrested has been charged with possession of a semi-automatic weapon and even a fucking silencer.
No one 'deserves' to be shot and killed by the police but there are certain unfortunate circumstances which increase the likelihood. Not much sympathy unless a proper investigation suggests a serious mistake has been made.

Experiences of a medical student living rough on the streets of London for a month. I'm posting this as he is my mate, and I've visited him a few times while he's been doing this. He's done a fantastic job of getting awareness raised - been on Sky, ITV, London Live etc.
He had to spend a whole afternoon with the journalist here, so didn't get any begging time to be able to afford food that day. On Xmas Day, he took all the money he'd managed to beg and bought little presents for full-time rough sleepers. Love his commitment to this cause.

100% agree.
Interesting stats in this article about gun crime in Japan: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-38365729
- 33,000+ gun deaths in the US in 2014 - 6 in Japan
- 0.6 guns per 100 people in Japan - 88.8 guns per 100 people in the US
I wonder if those two are related.
Carry a gun, especially when you're not supposed to, and the risk of being shot increases dramatically.

Do they mention Switzerland? High levels of gun ownership, mainly due to national service, but virtually zero shootings.
-
• #43871
They do not, but the Swiss have always been weird....
Only other they mention is the UK - 6.2 guns per 100 people.
Edit: Wikipedia says 45.7 per 100 in Switzerland. But it also says the US doesn't have 88.8 but 112.6 - fark. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estimated_number_of_guns_per_capita_by_country

access to bullets is heavily regulated as well.
probably.
-
• #43873
I thought ammunition in Switzerland was very tightly controlled tho'. Guns don't kill people, etc..
-
• #43874
Everyone who does national service has to pass an annual shooting test, and people practice (I know, I cycled on a road across a shooting range once and could hear the bullets fizzing over my head). So I'm not sure how controlled ammunition is.

The military service ammo comes in sealed clips that you have to present for inspection annually. If any are missing, it is a criminal offence.
Training is done with ammo that isn't kept at home.
That's reported everywhere. Wish they didn't base it on a 12hr day, 7 day week, 10 days holiday. It's still disgracefully early in the year based on a 35hr week.
