firstdirect
i can do everything via my phone once the 'first' payment to each new payee is set up via desktop (you use the app on the phone as your card reader thing for each new payee)
they do have links to HSBC tho (altho i think thats just a deal to be able to use the machines in their branches?)

My wife banked with Co-op for a while. They were ****ing shit and we are 99% sure they sold her details to a marketing company which resulted in years of nuisance calls.
I would avoid.
We've had a mortgage with Nationwide for many years - never had any problem with them. Also used YBS for savings and they were fine. I've not had a current account from either so can't comment on how good or otherwise they are for that service.
Ethical Banking.
I'm looking to change my bank this year (twas one of my things to do in 2017). I'm currently with HSBC who are - by my understanding - the devil.
I don't really care much about interest rates and the like as this is my account for wages in > money out to shared accounts between myself and the wife for all the bills. I put savings somewhere else.
What I want is a bank that has at least some ethics, but also has good mobile access via an app which will let me move money when needed but does not require some other plastic gumph to authorise payments (Nationwide requires a card reader thing for such things).
Any recommendations?
