about that FM dial - any ideas what it might be and is it DIY fixable? you had to turn it a certain way to get it to move the tuner thing.
Sounds like a mechanical issue. Might be worn splines where the knob engages the shaft? A blob of glue or rizla shim or something might sort it?
If it's intermittent connection/signal, it's worth a squirt/turn with contact cleaner spray.

cheers all. I think I'll try and use the Sansui, now I have a house and all. if I fail it's good to know there's people who'd give it a home :)
