  • Sjogren's doesn't typically cause those symptoms, and ditto the medications used for it. It might be another autoimmune/neurological condition. As someone above said, can you smell booze on them/is there physical evidence of alcohol misuse?

  • A bike shop in London which I can trust to service a Mack hub?

  • Buy three packs and use the spares as "body art?

  • Cheers, will give them a visit now

  • sbc?

    Small block Chevy?

  • I've noticed the East London Velo Winter Series starts this weekend. Has anyone got any experience of this series or has raced it before?

There's two categories for racing, Cat 4, or Cat 4/3/2. Given it'd be my first Crit should I enter the Cat 4 or given I'm relatively fit should I chance it with 4/3/2?

Lastly, if I have a BC silver license will I also need a race license?

  • BC silver is fine, cat 4 and racing in winter is chopper central so dont lean. @Sumo can comment on transition from 4 to 3 and above.

  • thank you. @sumo is the 4th cat a waste of time or is the standard pretty high?

  • If you're finishing in the top ten of a London X League race, then I think you'd have the fitness levels to smash the 4th cats out of the park.

  • They sorted it, thanks

  • Yeah. I know. There is a relative paucity of lairy tape available. Thank goodness the Italians are still in the bar tape game.

  • It's sick fam.

  • Is there another bottom bracket compatible with the FSA ISIS BB?

I have one which is worn out and replacements seem to be £28+

  • Is there another bottom bracket compatible with the FSA ISIS BB?

Any other ISIS BB of the same length/shell width, but it's hard to find a cheap one. The basic Truvativ one is essentially the same price as the basic FSA one, and the nice SKF one is well over £100 so we probably can't interest you in one of those.

RPM is the budget label from the same factory as FSA, so you could save a few quid:

VP are still making them too, I've seen them as low as £19.99 but not in all the sizes.

  • Where's the place to go for budget external BB track cranks?

Planet X used to do a set with BB and chainring for good price, but they're long gone.
    Anyone seen any bargains?

I'd also like to know this...

  • Any reason I should not cut the excess length off the chin strap on a new bicycle helmet?

The guy in the bike shop said he did it and will be fine. I assume it would void any sort of warranty/returns.

  • Ethical Banking.

I'm looking to change my bank this year (twas one of my things to do in 2017). I'm currently with HSBC who are - by my understanding - the devil.

I don't really care much about interest rates and the like as this is my account for wages in > money out to shared accounts between myself and the wife for all the bills. I put savings somewhere else.

What I want is a bank that has at least some ethics, but also has good mobile access via an app which will let me move money when needed but does not require some other plastic gumph to authorise payments (Nationwide requires a card reader thing for such things).

    Any recommendations?

  • problem is s300s are 130bcd though. normal track cranks are 144bcd. the planet x ones were 144bcd. theres a guy selling a battered pair on here for 30 in 165mm (noBlakes)

  • firstdirect

i can do everything via my phone once the 'first' payment to each new payee is set up via desktop (you use the app on the phone as your card reader thing for each new payee)

they do have links to HSBC tho (altho i think thats just a deal to be able to use the machines in their branches?)
